Monday Wheel Class
Workshop Details
Classes meet once per week from 4-7pm on Mondays from March 16-May 4. This class is appropriate for beginners, and intermediate demonstrations are available for those with experience. During the 3-hour weekly lesson, there will be a 30-minute demonstration followed by individual guidance while you practice creating. We will focus on wheel throwing skills. You can work solely on the wheel, solely work on handbuilding or try both, it is up to you! This class will cover the different stages of clay, the glazing process and a discussion of firing methods. Fee Includes: Glazes, firing, and open studio hours. Clay and basic tool set are not included (approximately $60 for both). Open studio is 1 day per week to come practice what you learn in class without instruction. Please note: Tool sets ($30) are only required for working on the wheel. No experience necessary! Bring clothes you don't mind getting dirty, a journal, a snack, and your water bottle. If you must miss a class, let me know and we'll do our best to get you caught up, but it is dependent on space in other classes. Please try to attend the first 3 classes of the session as this is where we cover wheel throwing fundamentals. *Note that wheel throwing is more challenging with long finger nails- you may wish to consider short nails while learning to throw clay. My payment preference is cash or check. Fees can be dropped off to the studio at the mail slot in the door at 728 Hwy 4, Arnold 95223 or mailed to PO Box 3517, Arnold. Thank you!
